THE OVERVIEW

CDS - Cass D Sanchez

Experience

From a young age I've enjoyed watching artists develop their own style and create their own perceptions of their mind and express their voices; I want to be able to evoke that onto future generations to come.

- Began to be formally instructed in grade 7-- through Chula Vista's SCPA program

Continued throughout high school, 6 years of formal instruction

- Visual and Performing Arts Summer Camp to study Visual Arts at Camp Cuyamaca in the Summers of 2015 and 2017.

Developed my current technique, and found my own voice to portray with different medias.

- Del Mar Fair: 2nd, 7th-12th

"Best in Class" award in 2016 for a flowers oil painting

- Sweetwater Union High School Art show since 8th grade

- Congressional Art Contest (top 25, Spring of 2018)

- San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art's ESP display in Spring of 2018 & 2019

- Chula Vista High School's Art Show (4 years)

- Young Black Scholars assembly for Black History Month (Artwork 2018)

- ASB's publicity commissionership: bigger scale graphic work for pep assemblies (backdrops & pannels), poster orders for the student body (such as 'promposals', birthday banners, or club acceptance posters) and general flyers publicizing for school dances

- T-Shirt Design for 2018-19 ASB Cabinet: ASB Baseball tee, 'Free Hugs from CVH,' shirt & "'Oh the Place You'll Go!' 1947" shirt

- Assisted in painting a mural at CVH, created by a c/o'18 artist.

The Goal

As an artist, everyone begins traditional and branches out to different areas of the art spectrum. In my current state I enjoy photography and graphic designs, and this is the field I wish to pursue in the future. I enjoy working with design and graphics artwork which has allowed me to pursue a career is graphic design, potentially expanding to the advertising & marketing fields. I plan to eventually study this field at UCLA, and do internships in Los Angeles. In photography, I wish to pursue it creatively to actively share my work online. With that, I am excited to take on the next step of my life and stepping into "the real world."
